Designing your floor

A layout drawn for your project

Designed for your project

Every Warmboard floor starts with a design. Send us your floor plans and Warmboard’s design team draws the panel layout, the pipe loop plan with manifold locations, and the materials list for your project.

The layout shows where every panel goes. The channels in the panels then set the pipe route, laid at 300 mm spacing.

What the design covers

Panel layout

Where each panel goes, room by room, so the panels go down in the right order.

Pipe loops and manifolds

How the pipe runs through the channels, how the loops are split, and where the manifolds sit. Loops are kept to a maximum of about 90 to 95 m.

Zones

Which rooms share a zone and which have their own setting, so you can heat the rooms you use.

How the design process works

  1. Send your plans
Use our Submit your plans form. Tell us about the floor structure (joists, slab or an existing floor) and the floor coverings you have in mind.
  2. We review the project
We check the plans and come back to you with any questions.
  3. Warmboard’s design team draws the layout
You receive the panel layout, pipe loop plan and materials list, and we prepare your quote.
  4. Refine and confirm
We go through the design with you and your builder or plumber and make any changes before ordering.
  5. Build
Your builder lays the panels from the layout, and your licensed plumber lays the pipe and connects the system.
