Why Warmboard

Why Warmboard

Hydronic floor heating that’s part of the floor itself.

Heating that's part of the floor

Warmboard takes a different approach to hydronic floor heating. The pipe sits in channels routed into the panel, and the panel’s aluminium face spreads the heat across the floor.

There’s no screed layer to pour and wait on: the floor covering goes over the panels.

In our experience, with timber glued directly to Warmboard, the floor surface feels warm within 20 to 30 minutes of the heating starting. That’s the floor surface, not the whole room reaching temperature.

What Warmboard gives you

Floor plans ready?

Subfloor and heating in one

Warmboard-S goes over the joists in place of the flooring sheet, so one layer does both jobs.

Designed for your home

Every project gets a panel layout, pipe loop plan and materials list, drawn by Warmboard’s design team.

Who lays the panels

Warmboard-S over joists is laid by a licensed builder, to your structural engineer’s details. Over a concrete slab or an existing floor, homeowners can lay Warmboard-S or Warmboard-R from our layout. A licensed plumber lays the pipe and connects the heat source.

Low-temperature water

Warmboard runs on low-temperature water from a heat pump or other heat source.

Tested for Australia

We arrange and pay for Australian testing and certification of Warmboard.
